Before Beowulf
Looking back I suppose I owe alot to the Alliance. I did get some of the best flight training in my two years as well as a very reliable astromech. Loki, my R-3 unit never failed to pull through. I owe my life to that droid.
This had to have been the low point in my life…… I was happier not getting shot than fighting for a cause that didn’t really effect me. But at the same time before I was flying the fastest ships Incom had to offer.
But here I am, piloting my little shuttle up and back from Coronet to Corellia’s largest merchant station. All day bringing sober spacers down to get drunk and freaky… and drunken spacers back up to get sober and anti-biotic shots from their medical droids.
The Red Dwarf was an interesting little shuttle, rodian by design which explained why all the controls were so large. Rodians don’t have the best manual dexterity. But she was a smooth ride right up until her reactor went critical mass and I took out the docking coupling and a small portion of the agrarian pod on an ithorian herd ship. I’m just glad ithorians have a passive philosophy. They still expected credits for the damages and for the suffering of the trees. Trees suffer?
And then I found this, a YT-2400 CEC freight class cruiser. I had to borrow some money from Jabba to afford it, and seeing how he owned the shipyard where I bought her from, all I had to do was make a few quick runs between Nar Shadaa and Tattoine and she was mine. I had a new freighter, a new business contact and the ithorians got their money. It’s not that hard to work for a Hutt, just remember that anything you put on your ship is worth more than your life. I’m not the idiot who blew his ballast on the Kessel run just because he was more afraid of prison than the Hutts. The Hutts don’t have jails, they have big rooms under trap-doors with carnivores in them….. REALLY BIG carnivores!
